Head Down

“The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.”

-Lily Tomlin

Head down looking at your feet to guide where they go.

Head down, blind to what’s in front or
what’s behind

Head down, deaf to the advice of those unable to fit the shoes you walk in.

Head down, numb to the feasibility of dreams after reality serves itself.

Head down, defeated by the misunderstandings of the glimmer of the possible in the impossible

Head down, racing against opponents with the same vision, concrete.

Head down, realizing a glimpse up will break the stride that keeps your existence.

Head down, no words, no vision, head down.
