Deep Seeded

A seed was planted long ago
Watered by the thinking
Some resentments hard to let go
Giving this seed living
Guiding its growth to the light
Pulled back by the darkness
Ego, hate, and selfish pride
Keeping this seed heartless
Time to go back to its roots
Find out what it needs
If we want to bear good fruit
Love and accept this seed.

Scenic Routes

Scenic routes have led me here
Unpaved ways I’ve had to clear
And many times I’ve gotten lost
Missed many bridges I could have crossed
Certainly there were some other ways
Routes much easier than the one I’ve paved
But would I have been the me today?
Would my heart had more joys than pains?
Those are answers I’ll never know
On scenic routes I’ll continue to go

Back To Divine

image
I’d like to think your soul was so pure
That this world’s pain was too much to endure
And so you decided it was not your time
You left my body and went back to divine
I am grateful for the shimmer of light that was you
I am grateful you chose my love to come to.

A Girl

FullSizeRender

A girl not nearly seventeen
Sat on the beach and cried
She looked at the world through troubled eyes
Was pregnant with her first child.

At home this girl knew nothing of love
Love, she never received
This child was her first faith in God
To bring the love she grieved

A mother who gave no soft touch
A father she never knew
With child, with faith, and desperate hope
The girl sought to escape truth

Many years have come and gone
Now a woman’s become of that girl
With child in tow and a gypsy heart
This woman traveled the world

After journeys and life’s gifts
This woman sits and ponders
Life has given and taken things
But a sadness still lingers

What this woman does not see
Is the success she has become
The child she cried with at the beach says:
“Through my eyes, you are one.”

Because success is not where you end up
It’s the courage to continue
It’s rising above all obstacles
And giving all the love in you.

“What You Resist Persists”– Carl Jung

Written for and published in The Seeds 4 Life

We have resisted anger. We have resisted sadness. We have put on a brave face when our insides were defeated and we have smiled when our insides were sobbing. Did this resistance ever make those feelings and emotions go away? Or did the resistance serve as a mask, slowly fading with every time we resisted what was happening to us?

We have resisted people. We have resisted problems. We have pretended they did not exist and we have pretended they would solve themselves. Did this resistance ever make those people and problems disappear? Or did the resistance present those people and problems in different areas of your life and in inopportune times?

We can run, we can hide, we can resist until we are exhausted. However, resisting is lacking the courage to confront the ghost that needs for us to tell it we see it and we know it’s there. This ghost will continue to haunt us until it is acknowledged, it will persist until it is no longer resisted. Until we tell it “I know you are there anger, I understand why you are angry. I accept you and I am working to make sure you can go in peace.” Or “I know you are there, problem. I am addressing you. I am strong and am working to solve you so you may go in peace.” And know, when they go in peace, you will have peace.

Resisting is like fighting a war to have peace. No war can be fought to have peace. So don’t fight a war, invite what you are resisting in. Have some coffee, some pastries, lively conversations, and send it on its way. Set the table for the next visitor you have been resisting because they will come knocking sooner or later.

Observing you, perception defines

I see my essence in your divine

I see my reason in your purpose

I see my ego on your surface

I see my flaws in your perfection

I see my deficient in your rejection

I see my sympathy in your exposure

I see my anxiety in your composure

I see my eccentric in your audacity

I see my coyness in your vivacity

I see my colors in your expression

I see my rigor in your digression

I see my love in your lust

I see my cynicism in your trust

In pieces of you, pieces of me are set free

Discovering you, I am discovering me.
