A sunny day in Houston, TX from the Buffalo Bayou.

You see the mess
So far away
Assume it’ll never reach you
But then one day
It comes to say
Hello, I’m here to meet you

Your heart may feel
For a little while
The empathy appears
And then its gone
You’re back to dawn
Forgotten yesteryears

But what is real
Is lived by those
The mess on the other side
Without a home
No place to roam
Same dream when they close their eyes

So please remember
You may be well
But many may feel cursed
Be kind and show
Much love and know
The roles could be reversed

Love…regardless.

The sadness you harbor
Makes living much harder
And that resentment you hold
From all the lies you’ve been told
Won’t make your heart heal
Of the anger you feel
And all of those times
When they were unkind
Know it was not you
They were living THEIR truth
So forgive all the heartless
Shine on…LOVE regardless

Where love may live

I am sorry child, I have brought you here
I know this place is scary
It seems it’s filled with so much hate
A burden for you to carry

I’ll hold your hand
To let you know
The world is good and kind
Do not let shadows
Scare your heart
Begin with the love inside

And when the world
Begins to weep
Let your light shine through
For a better world
Where love may live
Will also begin with you

“Life Is Only a Reflection of What We Allow Ourselves to See” – Trudy Symeonakis Vesotsky

Written for and Published in The Seeds 4 Life

What kind of lens are you seeing life through?

Is it the lens of bitterness? Reflecting a life of resentment and disappointments? Where anger bubbles on the surface and keeps your heart hardened?

Is it the lens of contentment? Reflecting a life of joy and progress? Accepting this beautiful gift that’s life and extending your hand to journey with it?

Is it the lens of fear?
Reflecting a life of living so far from the edge, you can’t even feel the breeze of possibilities?

Is it the lens of courage?
Reflecting a life of opportunities taken and the growth experienced from jumping into faith?

Is it the lens of victimization?
Reflecting a life of pointing the finger at everyone and everything you have convinced yourself is at fault for where you are?

Is it the lens of love?
Reflecting a life of complete compassion? Compassion for yourself? Compassion for others?

I ask you again? What kind of lens are you seeing life through? If it is one that is not fueling the constructive evolution of your being, change the lens.

You hold the power in the vision and how life reflects back what you allow yourself to see.

Confessions of a Daydreamer

IMG_8755

Staring into the world
Internalize what I see
Allow myself to feel
The Joys and tragedies

But when it gets too heavy
Retreat myself away
Seek and find idealism
Daydream of better days

Days in a universe
Parallel to all that is
Where manifestation reveals
A world of love and bliss

A daydreamer, that I am
With humility, my confession
I’ll be the change I would like to see
Create it with compassion.

When you give yourself away…..

The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli

When you let the mask fall off

Wear your heart on a sleeve

Other masks may fall as well

Or hide behind planned mischief

When you let a stranger in

And share all that you are

They may share back themselves

Or mock your open heart

When you live with compassion

Practice what is kind

They may be of gratitude

Or be manipulative with your mind

When you give yourself away

Completely naked and bare

They may breakdown their walls

Or just leave you standing there

But don’t be so discouraged

If they don’t love your soul

Because what we do, the karma is ours

And what they do, out of our control.

So Give yourself away, be what you would like to see.
