Love…regardless.

The sadness you harbor
Makes living much harder
And that resentment you hold
From all the lies you’ve been told
Won’t make your heart heal
Of the anger you feel
And all of those times
When they were unkind
Know it was not you
They were living THEIR truth
So forgive all the heartless
Shine on…LOVE regardless

Land Mines

Peak into this pensive mind
Watch your step…clutter’s covering land mines
Working on sorting through
What to keep and what to bid “adieu”

Of course, once cleared,
The land mines will appear
And It will be up to me to figure
How to navigate this surface of potential triggers.

Introspection will aide in this task
Bringing along perception’s mask
To guide in seeing the different sides
Of these, now uncluttered, land mines.

Out of sight, in the mind

vrba_Blindfold-100

Lori Vrba, Blindfold, 2012 Toned Gelatin Silver Print Edition 1/20

Can you still see?
“No, it’s pitch black” you say,
With a tone of uncertainty.

Now think of the things you love
Can you see them all?
“Yes, they are all there.
In my reminiscence wall.”

Now think of the things you loathe
Can you see them too?
“Yes, I see them creeping up
from the abyss of my mind’s view.”

Do you believe it, when they claim
“Out of sight, out of mind?”
“Not after this blindfold
Covered up my eyes.”

“You can close your eyes
to things you don’t want to see”
but know there are many things
that await for you in your memories.

“You can close your eyes
to things you don’t want to feel”
but know there are many things
that are felt in the heart’s zeal.

When you give yourself away…..

The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli

When you let the mask fall off

Wear your heart on a sleeve

Other masks may fall as well

Or hide behind planned mischief

When you let a stranger in

And share all that you are

They may share back themselves

Or mock your open heart

When you live with compassion

Practice what is kind

They may be of gratitude

Or be manipulative with your mind

When you give yourself away

Completely naked and bare

They may breakdown their walls

Or just leave you standing there

But don’t be so discouraged

If they don’t love your soul

Because what we do, the karma is ours

And what they do, out of our control.

So Give yourself away, be what you would like to see.

Continue to “Be the kind of person, you would like to meet.”

I have….

Painting by Jose Roosevelt

 I have been weak

I have been defeated

I have been confused

I have been mistreated

I have been loathed

I have been hated

I have been envied

I have been slated

I have been judged

I have been betrayed

I have been made a fool

I have been afraid

Despite of it all….

I have not kneeled down

To worship this crown.

Because you see, it’s all in the view,

In how we define what we’ve been through.

And one’s perception only tells

Of the internal anguish in which one dwells.

So it’s best to release of all this displeasure

“Because you are the sky, the rest… it’s just the weather.”

I am here

I am here

While your mind wanders to far off places,

And your absent heart creates void spaces,

I am here.

While you sing songs of past loves,

And smile because of memories you think of,

I am here.

While you cry from your pain,

And celebrate the strength you’ve regained,

I am here.

While you begin to grow,

And continue to reap what you sow,

I am here.

While you may be unsure

What the future has in store;

Because I love you, one things is clear

I am, will always be, here.

The Suitcase

The Burden by Jose Roosevelt

The Burden by Jose Roosevelt

During our journey, we collect many things. We pack it all into our suitcases and carry it around with us. If one were to open our suitcase, one would find our memories, our pains, our joys, our resentments, our loves, our hates, our secrets, our fears, our worries and our dreams. The heaviest items are the ones that are folded and packed with sadness, fears, anger, worry and resentment. The lightest items are the ones that are folded and packed with love, joys, compassion and our dreams. Most of us pack the heavier things and only make small room for the lighter items. We then wonder why life is so difficult? Why we always feel weighed down? Why we have problems that never seem to go away? Why we have animosity towards people? Why love never finds us? Why we sabotage ourselves?

When we open our suitcase and check our inventory; What are we carrying around? If it is the heavier things, unpack; Donate it to forgiveness, letting go and God. The souvenirs we take from our journey should be the ones we can admire with understanding, acceptance and learning. Let’s fill our suitcase with the lighter things and allow it to carry US.

When the Heart speaks…

Cassiopeia 'Heart And Soul Nebulae'

Cassiopeia ‘Heart And Soul Nebulae’

When the Heart speaks….

ask: what is your intention?

When the Heart speaks pain,

Let it make you feel the hurt, accept it, release.

When the Heart speaks joy,

Let it dance with your bliss, embrace it and give it away.

When the Heart speaks hate,

Take a look at the reflection and forgive what’s looking back.

When the Heart speaks love,

Let it declare it is there, as loud as it desires to be.

When the Heart speaks sadness,

Follow its echo inward and let it flow outward through tears.

When the Heart speaks happiness,

Let it flow through your body, touch your lips, and smile.

When the Heart speaks….

answer: you are me and I am you.

Mirror, Mirror

Salvdor Dali's Cranach Metamorphosis

Salvador Dali’s                     Cranach Metamorphosis

Mirror, mirror on the wall
There you go, point to my flaws
Here I am, sit and stare
At this body, naked and bare

Mirror, mirror on the wall
To your deceptive ways I fall
Blinded by your strong reflection
Prey to your cruel rejection

Mirror, mirror on the wall
Towering over, I feel so small
Worthless to your expectations
A child of God? Not this creation.

Mirror, mirror on the wall
Closing my eyes so I may call
On the light that lives within
To shine its wisdom on my skin

Mirror, mirror on the wall
I accept you and your flaws
Embrace this body and how it’s made
Love myself, the light and shade.
