Everything

“I don’t come from much…”

You come from the dry desert
And summer rains
You come from tree canopies
And sun rays
You come from wild flowers
Through concrete
You come from daylight
At midnight’s arctic
You come from the color of leaves
In the hills of fall
You come from deep oceans
And the wave’s call
You come from thunder rolls
And lightning strikes
You come from the new moon
In the night sky

You, my beautiful one, come from
EVERYTHING

I AM YOU ARE

I am not here to teach you
Life will do that
I am not here to judge you
You will do that
I am not here to take from you
You will give that
I am here to see myself
In parts of you I discover
I am here to find myself
In parts of you I do not understand
I am here to heal myself
In parts of you I do not accept

You are not here to teach me
Life will do that
You are not here to judge me
I will do that
You are not here to take from me
I will give that
You are here to see yourself
In parts of me you discover
You are here to find yourself
In parts of me you do not understand
You are here to heal yourself
In parts of me you don’t accept

Fleeting

Here’s the thing….
The feeling is fleeting.
That darkness we fall to.
Keeping us.
It’s not.
Make it another minute.
Let go.
So we may realize
The sun will set to give way to another sunrise.
Every day, Every time.
The feeling is fleeting.
It will come….and then it will go.
Just make it another minute.

Deep Seeded

A seed was planted long ago
Watered by the thinking
Some resentments hard to let go
Giving this seed living
Guiding its growth to the light
Pulled back by the darkness
Ego, hate, and selfish pride
Keeping this seed heartless
Time to go back to its roots
Find out what it needs
If we want to bear good fruit
Love and accept this seed.

“Stop Shrinking Yourself to Fit in Places You’ve Outgrown” – Unknown

Written for and Published in The Seeds 4 Life.

We hold on to what’s comfortable. We hold on so tightly, that we become part of it. Where we live, a significant other, a job, a habit. We believe we belong to it and it belongs to us. Even if it no longer makes us grow. Even if the shoe no longer fits, the love becomes stale, the job sucks at our soul, the habit becomes destructive – it’s comfortable and we hold on.

The thing about comfort is that it convinces us anything outside of it is too foreign to accept. Anything outside of it is scary. Anything outside of it will not fit. Anything outside of it is past our ability to understand. But our roots know better. Our roots know in order to grow, it needs to grow past comfort zones.

And if the things we belong to no longer serves our growth, if the love is stale, the shoe is too small, the job has left our soul thirsty, our habits have become destructive, we have contracted. We have forced ourselves to shrink. We have forced ourselves to fit into places our roots have grown past. Our roots know, it’s ok if we expand as well. Because LOVE is the energy that expands and FEAR is the energy that contracts.

So, choose LOVE. Grow. Expand. The other side of comfort waits.
