Fight

img_6544

Between your ears, resides a place
A place where demons come to play
To pull you in to the abyss
Where only darkness seems to exist

In this darkness the voice speaks loud
Curses the light, invites in clouds
It brings in guilt, applauds the shame
Makes you feel small, calls you by name

There are many places you’ll try to hide
From this voice that lives inside
You’ll try to run away from this place
The place where demons come to play

And sometimes “friends” will come to your aid
Only to turn on you the next day
Leaving you there to pick yourself up
With empty bottles and a half poured cup

What if I told you it’s not real
How that voice tries to make you feel
What if I told you, demons die
When you look them right in the eyes

What if I told you in that place
There is a soul, it has your face
What if I told you, you possess
the power to bring this voice to rest

What I am telling you is true
The light is waiting to find you
No need to hide or run away
Open your eyes, turn night to day

So in this place, between your ears
There are no demons for you to fear
They are not real, they are not you
What that voice says is all untrue.

But if you dive and find yourself there
Breathe in courage, breathe out despair
Open your eyes, you’ll see the light
You’ll see your soul, your heart, your might.

Love yourself and go to war
With all the things invading your shores
Fight for your heart, fight for your life
Fight for the gift of being alive.

Closed Doors

Vladimir Kush's Vita Memorae
          Vladimir Kush’s Vita Memorae

While you stare at closed doors

Caging yourself in mind’s war

The universe continues to expand

Ready for you to extend your hand.

While you stare at closed doors

Feeling defeated to your core

A window is opened, take a breath

Let your worries go to rest.

While you stare at closed doors

Regretful of the wrong you’ve done before

Know that you have been forgiven

For any malice you have given

While you stare at closed doors

Feeling sorry for your scores

Know, “the only way out, is through”

no one can help you begin, but you.

While you stare at closed doors

Say a prayer,  let love pour

Turn around and leave this room

To your garden, new flowers will bloom

I am here

I am here

While your mind wanders to far off places,

And your absent heart creates void spaces,

I am here.

While you sing songs of past loves,

And smile because of memories you think of,

I am here.

While you cry from your pain,

And celebrate the strength you’ve regained,

I am here.

While you begin to grow,

And continue to reap what you sow,

I am here.

While you may be unsure

What the future has in store;

Because I love you, one things is clear

I am, will always be, here.

My Heart

The Heart Chakra
         The Heart Chakra

In my extended hand I hold

my unclothed heart for you to unfold.

Invite you in and have you see,

this beating heart, inside of me.

In this heart I hold all treasures,

infinite love and all life’s pleasures.

An open heart is what I give.

Compassionately and truthful, I try to live.

But imperfection also resides

in this unfolded heart of mine

A shadow side for you to uncover.

An honest heart you will discover.

There, you may find a lack of trust

of this world I find unjust.

You may find resentments stored,

and insecurities that I hoard.

You may find my judgments made,

and what makes my heart afraid.

You may find a lack of love,

and the anger I’ve tried to rid myself of.

But what is dark inside of me,

I share with you to be set free.

I hope this gift you will receive;

This heart of mine, upon my sleeve.

And like the light I see in you,

I also see the dark side too.

But now that you have my heart to hold

Allow your heart to begin to unfold.

A journey with Jesus…the idea of….

the-sacred-heart-of-jesus

…my opinion stands….Jesus was an enlightened man who should be admired for his teachings. The idea that he died for our sins so we will have eternal life is not enough of a statement for me to believe that statement as is. With that said, I would like to suggest “he died for our sins” is a metaphor. A metaphor that symbolizes he came here to teach us all how to approach ourselves, others, and God. To deliver us from the negativity we ourselves create like fear, hate and judgement. During my research, I have also found the story of Jesus’ life  is not only original to the bible, but also to the Hindu religion with the birth and life of Krishna, in the Buddhist religion with the story of Buddha, the story of Odysseus, the story of Romulus, the story of Dionysus, the story of Horus and a few more. This is not to try to take away anything from Christians, but to simply become a well rounded informed being. I am not one to put a limit on what God is, and I feel if we all limit our thoughts and do not expand our knowledge, we will do ourselves an injustice and reject all the ways God shows himself/herself. I will continue on my journey to learn more about Jesus’ teachings, as I have continued to learn about Gandhi’s teachings and Buddha’s teaching. I have found they are all very very similar. In fact, Gandhi himself believed the similar suggestion I have made about Jesus: “What, then, does Jesus mean to me? To me, he was one of the greatest teachers humanity has ever had. To his believers, he was God’s only begotten Son.* Could the fact that I do or do not accept this belief make Jesus have any more or less influence in my life? Is all the grandeur of his teaching and of his doctrine to be forbidden to me? I cannot believe so….”

God…outside of the box

God is in the sunrise
God is in the sunset
God is in the breeze by the sea
God is every place I choose to be

God is in the highest mountain
God is in the deepest oceans
God is in the greenest land
God is in the dry desert sand

God is in the birds that fly
God is in the worm that crawls
God is in the bear that sleeps
God is in the willow that weeps

God is in my son’s eyes
God is in the tears I cry
God is in the smiles I see
God is inside of me
